    2. Description
    PLAZA-UFERCOT-1520 | PLAZA-HD-17055 | PLAZA-ACC-1803 is a three-component, heat curing epoxy system.PLAZA-UFERCOT-1520 is a solventless liquid resin of medium viscosity based on bisphenol-A.PLAZA-HD-17055 is yellow colored low viscosity, modified carbolic anhydride type hardener.PLAZA-ACC-1803 is amine based low viscosity, dark brown liquid.For most application addition of 1-2 components such as flexibilizer (PLAZA-FLX-9), silica filler are employed.The curing of epoxy system takes place at elevated temperature by polyaddition reaction. The resultant curedmass is hard with excellent electrical insulation, mechanical and thermal properties.

  • Casting & potting of high voltage coils, transformers and switchgear.• Impregnation of instrument transformers.• Binder for glass fibre fabric and filament wound tubes & laminates
  • 4. Application Method
    PLAZA-UFERCOT-1520 system is best processed at warm temperatures of 50-60oC.It is best to make a premix of PLAZA-UFERCOT-1520 + PLAZA-FLX-9 (flexibilizer) + silica or other filler + colour paste at 60oC.To this premix, PLAZA-HD-17055 (Hardener) and PLAZA-ACC-1803 (Accelerator) should be added last.The mixture is best processed at 60oC for sufficiently long pot life and low processing viscosity.Mixing ratio as specified must be followed for best results.Mould used for casting must first be treated with a mould releasing agent. For this purpose, a baking finish of compound stored for 4-6 hours at 150oC and polishing with silicone paste, thereafter, are best suited.
    5. Properties of cured material
  • PLAZA-UFERCOT-1520 system cures into hard & tough mass after curing at elevated temperature. The cured mass has good adhesion to metals and most plastics. The addition of fillers like silica, Alumina etc. improve heat conduction, mechanical properties and dimensional stability. The cured mass has excellent dielectric properties and track resistance. The resin system, in combination with other heat insulation material, is suitable for class F (155ºC) components & machines.
  • Mixing Proportion & Pot Life :
    Mixing Ratio: (Resin: Hardener:Accelerator) pbw ::100: 100:0.5
    Initial Viscosity of mixture at 25oC (mPa.s): 720 (typical)
    Pot life at 25oC (min) : 75-95
  • Recommended Curing Schedule• 6 hours at 80°C + 3 hours at 120°C.The curing time is after the component or mould attains specified temperature. Time required to heatup moulds, etc. should be added in the above suggested curing time.
